Our principal consultant and founder Dr. Sanjay Runwal can be aptly described as a rare mix of academics and entrepreneurship.
He is an Electrical Engineer from the MNIT Jaipur and has an MSc in Strategic Planning from the Edinburgh Business School, UK and has a Doctorate in Business Strategy. Besides he has a certification in Business Research and is a qualified Arbitrator and is a panel member of the Indian Council of Arbitration. Dr. Runwal has been a part of several businesses in the - retail, food, media and advertising, real estate and infrastructure, hospitality and consulting sectors for over 38 years.
He started his business career in 1983 at Vijayapura in Karnataka. He was a part of the Real Estate Industry in Pune for over 23 years from 1994 to 2016 during which time he also had the distinction of receiving Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in one of his real estate companies. He has also been instrumental in setting up India’s first theme based Villa Resort – Song of Life County at Urawade, Mulshi.
As the CMD of the Runwal Housing group which he founded in 2001, he was a part of CREDAI Pune Metro for about 2 decades and was also its office bearer for 4 years as its Joint Secretary. Dr. Runwal has over eight years of business consulting experience including training, lecturing and as an educator in the field of Strategic Management. He travels across India and lectures and conducts workshops for businesses as varied as Real Estate, Hospitality, Chemicals, Auto and Aviation Components, Health Care and Public Sector Industries like the Indian Railways. He has reached over 5000 professionals through his programs across these industries. He is a regular speaker on subjects of strategic management, competitive advantage and leadership at various forums all across the country.
Dr. Runwal has to his credit the Runwal’s strategic management model which is his intellectual property (copyright received), a model which works as a comprehensive sutra for the Management of the MSME businesses and the Purple Ocean Strategy (trademark applied for) for competitive advantage in business and industry. Dr. Runwal has a certificate of achievement in ‘Public Speaking Mastery’ from the Dale Carnegie Academy. He also has a certification from the Franklin Covey Institute for completing – The 7 habits of highly effective people, training program. He has also been honored with the - Thought leadership certification by Unicom India for his presentation on ‘Building competencies through excellence in people’ at New Delhi.
He has received several prestigious awards as well as a Life Time Achievement Award for his contribution to the real estate industry. In his leisure time, he is passionate about travelling, singing, cooking and writing Hindi poetry. He is also an active member of Rotary for the past 30 years. He has jointly pioneered the ‘Horn Free Pune’ initiative and is the founding collaborator behind the No Honking Day initiative.
