The faculty conducting this LDP – Dr. Sanjay Runwal has a rare mix of Academics and Business Experience as he has a doctorate in Business Strategy and an MSc in Strategic Planning from the Edinburgh Business School, UK and has over 38 years Experience in business and consulting. He is an ‘Eminent Management Speaker’ and an ‘Expert in Strategy & Leadership’.
A brief about this Leadership Development Program (LDP)
This LDP will equip the participants with an understanding of the process of Strategic Leadership, Strategic Planning, Strategic Risk Management and application oriented knowledge of Making Strategies Work and Competitive Strategies to equip them take up senior positions of Leadership in their Organisations. The key intent of this LDP is to prepare the Second Line of Management in Organisation for challenging Leadership Roles.
The LDP will be a full day program and will comprise of 6 Business Sessions.
Opening Session - Introductions and our purpose today (9.00 AM to 9.15 AM)
Post the ice breaking session you would get a preview of the upcoming sessions of this LDP on ‘Strategic Leadership and its Implementation in Organisations’.
Session 1 – Understanding Strategic Leadership (9.15 AM to 11.15 AM)
As a part of the top team of your organization you are required to develop yourself as a strategic leader and then develop leadership in your organization. You are therefore required to understand the essentials of strategic leadership so that you are able to build your leadership model around the culture and values of your organization.
This session will help you in understanding about Strategic Leadership, Transformational Leadership and will help you in successfully engaging the hearts and minds of your team!
Session 2 – Knowing the Process of Strategic Planning (11.30 AM to 12.30 PM)
Strategic planning is a capstone management activity that is used to set priorities, focus energy and resources and build competitive advantage. It is therefore a disciplined effort of the top management that produces fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide what an organization is, who it serves, what it does, and why it does it, with a focus on the future.
This session will equip you with the knowledge of environmental analysis which is so essential to Strategic Planning.
Session 3 – Executing Strategies (12.30 PM to 1.30 PM)
Executing Strategies or Making Strategies Work is all about Strategy Implementation. The most outstanding strategies fail because of poor implementation. As a senior member of the management team, you need to understand the mechanism of strategy implementation and guide your team through the complete process of implementation.
This involves deciding on the Critical Success Factors and Critical Activities for the successful implementation of the strategy. This session will also help you in understanding the RACIS matrix.
Session 4 – Competitive Strategies and Developing Competitive Advantage (2.15 PM to 3.15 PM)
In an era of intense competition you and your team will be required to understand the generic Competitive Strategies and based on your core competencies develop distinct Competitive Advantage to generate higher sales and higher returns.
At the end of this session you will have a clear understanding about the framework to build competitive advantage for your products.
Session 5 – The Importance of Strategic Risk Management (3.30 PM to 4.30 PM)
As a part of the management team of your organization you need to know about the various risks your organisation could be subjected to and should also be aware about the ways of tackling these risks.
This session prepares you to understand all kinds of risks and the mechanisms of addressing them.
Session 6 – Leadership Assignments (4.30 PM to 5.15 PM)
In this session, participants will get an opportunity to check on their Leadership Qualities by working on different assignments.
This will help them in gauging their Leadership Skills and Strengths.
Concluding Session (5.15 PM to 5.30 PM)
In this session, Certificates of Participation and the Course Booklet will be distributed to the participants.
The program would then conclude with a Group Photograph.
The ‘Certificate of Participation’ and ‘LDP Course Booklet’ will be handed over to the participants at the end of the LDP.
